This Aeronautics group has computerized the planning and the follow-up of its internal and external audits thanks to Quality Manager of Avanteam.

The need

This multi-national aeronautics group wanted to improve the management of its internal and external audits, which were initially handled via Excel files and e-mail.

Even if the process was under control, the planning and follow-up of audits and their action plans mobilized a lot of resources, wasted considerable team time and offered little visibility. What's more, the quality department spent a great deal of time contacting the parties concerned to collect, format and communicate information prior to each management review.

Thanks to Quality Managersoftware, the planning and follow-up of audits in the field, as well as the management of findings, deviations and action plans, have been fully optimized. When planning an audit, the tool can check the availability of the people involved by consulting their electronic diaries online.

The latter are then notified of the date and scope of the audit via a workflow system. In case of deviation or non-conformity, they can also enter and assign corrective or preventive actions via the tool.

Progress monitoring views by site, date, auditor, auditee, department, action pilot, etc., make it possible to monitor the progress of each audit and its action plans at any time.

Over and above the obvious time savings in planning and monitoring audits and action plans, the various parties involved now have total visibility of the process. Quality management now has relevant indicators with which to analyze audit results and initiate the necessary action plans in good time.

  • Is the tool accessible to operational staff? allowing them to reconfigure their application: form, workflow, business rules, etc. without having to go through heavy and expensive development each time.
  • Is the solution open enough? to integrate with your existing IT systems, especially email for audit scheduling.
  • Do not forget the user interface and the ergonomics of the application. Your users should be able to use it after a one-hour training, or even a simple online training.
